COPENHAGEN, DENMARK – October 30, 2018 – Today, Sonos (Nasdaq: SONO) announced all five exclusive Sonos One colorways with leading Danish design brand HAY will be available for purchase on Nov. 5, 2018. First shown at Salone del Mobile in Milan, the full collection, which includes Forest Green, Pale Yellow, Soft Pink, Light Grey and Vibrant Red will be available to purchase from sonos.com, Sonos Store NYC and Hay.com from 9:00 a.m. ET.
Brought about by a mutual commitment to creating accessible, contemporary products with an eye for modern living and sophisticated industrial manufacturing, the exclusive collection is designed to blend modern design objects and a great sound experience seamlessly into any home.
“At HAY, no two products are the same. I believe each object has its own set of colors: a chair, a toothbrush, or a piece of porcelain can’t have the same colors, yet they can still complement each other. For the Sonos range, we were inspired by our daily home life. We wanted to create colors that were for everyone,” said Mette Hay, Co-founder HAY.
“The yellow relates to kitchens and bathrooms that are often kept light and complemented with stainless steel and porcelain. The green hues are meant to remind viewers of pots or plants sitting by windows. The light grey is for everyone. It was important to find the right shade—one that suits both workspaces, homes, and different looks with its neutral tone. Pink is the color we feel closely connected to in fashion – we feel that all things pink create a special desire right now. The iconic red was the final color I chose for the collection, as it creates such an important accent with regards to furniture.”

To celebrate the launch of the new range, Sonos is teaming up with NTS to create a ten-hour takeover of the station on Nov. 5. Five different artists will be presenting bespoke 120-minute synesthetic shows, based around the highlight colors from the collection.

Neo-soul icon Erykah Badu will be making her much anticipated NTS debut for The Sound of Colour, presenting a plant-based mix around the theme of all things green. Self-proclaimed 'jizz-jazz' artist Mac Demarco is trying his hand as a selector for the pink edition of The Sound of Colour, packing some suitably rose-tinted music from the lo-fi sleaze of Ariel Pink to saccharine '80s hits from Japan. Drone metal pioneer Stephen O' Malley, best known from his work as the frontman of Sunn O))), will be building a soundscape for all things colorless and gray. Norwegian synth-pop duo and NTS residents Smerz are stepping up to the synaesthetic plate with two hours of yellow-charged selections, whilst "bubblegum industrial" producer Croatian Amor has a passionate crimson paintbrush with which to compose his show.
