Introducing Sonos Era 100 SL

Simplicity has always been one of our guiding principles at Sonos. When we design a new speaker, we don’t stop when we’ve achieved incredible sound. We also focus on delivering an experience that makes it easy to integrate Sonos into your daily listening habits. To that end, we’re thrilled to introduce the latest addition to our celebrated Era lineup: Sonos Era 100 SL.
Era 100 SL is a spiritual successor to Sonos One SL — the beloved bookshelf speaker that offered a more affordable alternative to Sonos One by removing the built-in voice control. Era 100 SL takes the same finely tuned stereo sound and rich bass in our best-selling Era 100 speaker, but without internal microphones.
Striking the perfect balance between ease, affordability, and premium sound, Era 100 SL debuts as the most accessible speaker in the Sonos in-home lineup.
Experience room-filling sound
For those already familiar with the advanced acoustics of Era 100, Era 100 SL needs no introduction. But if this is your first foray into Sonos, get ready for remarkably rich sound that permeates every corner of your listening space.
With detailed stereo separation and deep bass delivered at any volume, Era 100 SL levels up your audio experience across various forms of media. From chill playlists to pulse-pounding action films, this is a speaker designed to amplify and accentuate whatever you play through it.
It’s also designed to sound great wherever you position it, thanks to Trueplay™ tuning technology that analyses the unique acoustics of your space and optimises the speaker’s equalisation (EQ). All of this can be done using the Sonos app and an iOS device, once you’ve decided where to place your speaker. (Trueplay™ is not available for Android users with Era 100 SL.)

Multiple ways to connect
Simplicity means just one system that connects all of your audio components, from your wireless speakers to your turntable to your television.
Regardless of how you listen or watch, connecting Era 100 SL is refreshingly simple. Stream music and video audio from your various devices via WiFi or Bluetooth (though we recommend WiFi for the best sound experience). Era 100 SL also supports Apple AirPlay 2 for iOS devices, and you can connect your turntable or other media equipment with an auxiliary cable using the Sonos Line-In Adapter.
Compact and sustainable design
Era 100 SL doesn’t just sound beautiful. It looks the part, too. Inheriting the sleek and stylish contours of Era 100, the compact Era 100 SL is designed to fit beautifully on bookshelves, kitchen counters, windowsills, and wherever else you might find space for it.
What you might miss when admiring the looks of Era 100 SL, however, is the sustainability story that drives this latest addition to Sonos’ environmentally conscious Era lineup. Like Era 100 and Era 300, Era 100 SL features post consumer-recycled plastics that minimise waste and software efficiencies that reduce power consumption when the speaker is idle.
Even the packaging — 100% recyclable and crafted from paper certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® — reflects our commitment to listeners and the planet.

Connect to your Sonos system
If Era 100 SL is your first Sonos product, you can use it as a stand-alone speaker that sounds great on its own.
Want a more immersive experience? Connect two Era 100 SL speakers to a Sonos soundbar to create a surround sound system. From your home office to your kitchen, add speakers to every room to create an amazing multi-room audio experience that stays with you as you move throughout your home. This flexibility is what makes Era 100 SL such an ideal entry point into the Sonos system — as well as a more affordable addition to an existing setup.
Why Era 100 SL speakers are perfect for surround sound
Here's something worth knowing: if you already have a voice-enabled soundbar in your setup — like Sonos Arc Ultra or Sonos Beam, for instance — you’ve already got voice control covered for your entire system. That means you don't need every speaker in your setup to have built-in voice control, just one in the room where you're most likely to use it.
Era 100 SL, then, makes for a smart option if you’re simply looking to add rear speakers to your system. If you pair multiple Era 100 SL speakers with a voice-enabled Sonos soundbar, for example, you’ll get the best of both worlds: a surround sound setup with voice control only where you actually need it.

Era 100 SL vs. Era 100
Era 100 SL is designed to be a more affordable and accessible version of our Era 100 smart speaker.
It offers the same essential sonic architecture as its older sibling, with no compromises on sound quality. And if you love the seamless touch controls and intuitive volume slider of Era 100, you’ll find the exact same features with Era 100 SL.
The only real difference between these two speakers is that Era 100 SL does not contain a microphone and therefore does not have voice control capabilities. (This also means that you’ll need an iOS device if you want to activate Trueplay, as Android devices require a microphone within the speaker.) But if you have an iOS device and don’t need voice control, Era 100 SL arguably makes for a more sensible addition to your setup.
Discover Era 100 SL
Era 100 SL may seem like a relatively minor update to the beloved Era 100, but it unlocks a host of possibilities.
With the more affordable price point, it’s now the most cost-effective way to build your home theatre setup. And the streamlined design makes Era 100 SL the most accessible Sonos plug-in speaker yet — perfect for those who want the quickest and simplest path to pristine sound.
Simply put, Era 100 SL delivers a premium Sonos audio experience at a price that makes sense. To learn more about Era 100 SL, get in touch with a Sonos expert by phone or chat.
