i can't play dolby atmos when i watch movie

Hi there, i did everything to be able to listen to movie in atmos, i cant seem to be able to do it. I am able to listen to music in atmos but i cant with movies. I dod all the setup on the tv but i still cant. It always say Stereo Pcm. I am out of idea honestly.

Testing Sonos system with Dolby labs on Apple Music

So I run the Dolby Atmos or the 5.1 test from Apple music on Sony TV on with ATV. The Arc sound bar says Right, Center, then Left surround, Right surround but it never says L on the Arc sound bar. Do I have a problem?

speaker layout for this room?

Looking to put ceiling speakers in our kitchen remodel. space is roughly 27’ long by 15’ wide. Can I get away with just two speakers in this room? I was thinking one on the right side in between the island and cabinets, with a second speaker closer to the dining table. Would this be sufficient or do I really need 4 in this space? I do not need sound over the stair area on far left. The kitchen is an open concept and leads into a living room with a vsaulted ceiling. There is a sonos soundbar in that room and I have no plans to add additional speakers in there. I appreciate any input!!

Redesigned Sonos app and compatibility with voice-over screen reader in IOS

Hello has the forthcoming redesigned Sonos App (announced on 23rd April 2024) been tested for compatibility with the voice-over screen reader in IOS? I am totally blind and currently use sonos very successfully with the S2 app on both my Iphone and Ipad. can you confirm whether the app has been tested with voice-over and that it will continue to be accessible to voice-over users. I am slightly reluctant to update if the app ends up being less accessible to me. at present the current app works beautifully with the exception of a few minor quirks. Multiple WI-Fi profiles with same Sonos account

Hi.I have multiple Sonos speakers all on my home wifi. I am taking a trip soon and will take my Roam speaker with me. I have a travel router I am also taking with me. I would like to add the travel router wifi to my existing Sonos account and simply direct the roam speaker to that router when I reach my destination. When I return home I want to simply switch Roam back to the home wifi from the travel router wifi. My question - is this possible or can Sonos only be connected to one wifi? Currently it seems I have to reset the Roam anytime I want to use a different wifi account. I don’t want to set up a separate Sonos account - I just want the ability to “switch” which wifi the speaker is connected to easily. Can anyone help a gal out? Thanks!

Temporarily lose speaker in S2 App

My set up is 1 x Play:3 hardwired creating a SonosNet with a number of Play:1/Sonos One dotted around the house.I have 2 x access points in the house for the S2 controller to connect to (same SSID etc.)I often get the following situation. As an example, I’m playing music in the kitchen (this is the only room playing). I open up the app to stop the music. The app shows every other room and what was playing - that is you can see the album/radio station image - but the kitchen will be completely blank, so I can’t use the controls to stop the music.It can take up to 1 minute for the room to “kick in” so I can see the album/station and use the controls to stop the music.This isn’t restricted to the kitchen, it’s whichever room is playing.Anyone else seen this issue? Any idea how to resolve?

Some Sirius XM channels will play, some say "Unable to Play the Selected Item"?

I noticed about a year ago this was happening for multiple people, but the topic was closed. So -- it’s still happening for me. I reauthorize SiriusXM and it seems to work for a day or two, but then fails again. It’s not always the same channels either. Any update on this?

sonos beam gen 2 plays only dolby digital 5.1

Hei! I have a sonos beam gen 2 connected to a Philips 50PUS616/12 through Hdmi Arc. I have an apple tv conected to other hdmi and despitethe fact that most shows have dolby atmos, i never experienced it since the sonos app says that it is streamed in dolby digital 5.1any hints? Can i ever see dolby atmos on the app?

Scenario: I work in an agency where Sonos speakers are used in 3 areas. There are 4 Sonos One speakers in one area. 4 Sonos One speakers in another and 3 downstairs. We’ve even got a Sonos Five somewhere. These speakers are all on the same WiFi network but are grouped together in their respective areas, with individual speaker names and each area controlled independently of each other via 3x separate iPads.Problem: When listening to a Spotify playlist in one area, the music might change to one of the other areas choice and the volume spike to MAX. Even though no one has touched either iPad or speaker. We try to turn the music off or down and it just jumps straight back again. We’ve tried setting volume limits to ‘ON’ and at 40% on each speaker but although that seems at first to work, soon defaults to ‘OFF’ and back to maximum volume. We try tapping ‘pause’ on the top of a speaker but it starts again almost instantly. This happens randomly, and things can be fine for a few days but the

Sound Intermittently keep cutting out on Samsung TV.

Hi since I’ve had my new tv set up I’m experiencing issues.The sound intermittently keeps cutting out which is so annoying I went on the Facebook group forum and everyone said to change the hdmi cable which I’ve done but the issue remains. Add 2nd Sub Mini

Our home theater resides in our Condominium living room. The system includes Beam Gen 2, 2 One Sl surrounds and 1 sun mini.We’ve seen multiple YouTube that recommend having 2 Sub’s and begs the question if the current S2 App can connect a 2nd Sub Mini?We opted away from the much larger Sub Gen 3 given its cost & our shared wall Condominium space.Thank you

Airplay 2 unable to connect to Sonos

I have around 11 sonos speakers and 3 Apple HomePods. The HomePods work flawlessly for Airplay. But only certain speakers work on the Sonos side for Airplay and no matter what I do, (unplug all speakers and reboot router and modem and finally hard reset most speakers, nothing seems to work I consistently get “unable to connect to “speaker name””. However they all lseem to work on the Sonos V2 app. Has anyone found a fix to this issue?

SiriusXM channels not listing in latest Sonos App... sonos and sirius pointing fingers at each other...

I spent 2 hours this morning with Sonos and SiriusXM trying to resolve an issue with how SiriusXM channels are displayed in the Sonos App. After the usual stuff (uninstalling, reinstalling, rebooting, etc...) Sonos ran a screen share and could clearly see that the Sirius channels are not being displayed properly. Sirius claims that this issue is on the Sonos end. To their credit, Sonos did temporarily log into their Sirius test account (via screenshare) within my Sonos app and their Sirius stations were displaying.Sirius seems to think this is an issue with how Sonos is handling the channel lineup info being delivered to them from Sirius. Seems right to me although that doesnt fully explain why the Sonos test account worked but my account didnt. Anyway, after numerous call backs I got tired of helping two large companies solve problems that they should be able to do without irritating their customers are wasting our time.Next step is to consider an alternative way to power my music at

Which layout - Speaker setup would you go with?

Hi guys, I am helping my friend with his Sonos purchase and well I wanted your opinion on the 2 proposed setup: Setup A: Zone 1: Kitchen/Living room combined → Sonos AmpZone 2: Dining Room → Sonos AmpZone 3: Family room (Arc sound bar + Gen 3 sub) This setup visually looks better and has a steeper price tag, main concern is , is it an overkill? also if 5-10 years down the road he moves, well the in-ceiling speakers stay! Total: 10 in-ceiling speakers | 2 Sonos Amp | 2 Era 300 | 1 Arc Soundbar | 1 Gen 3 Sub Setup B: Zone 1: KitchenZone 2: Mid-Kitchen Zone 3: Living RoomZone 4: Dinning Room (group the 2 Era 100 with 2 Era 300) Zone 5: Family Room (identical in both plans)Main benefit, cost is lower as Era 100s are cheaper and no Sonos Amp is required, in addition if he moves, he can take the speakers with him! PS) I would have suggested to replace 2 of the Era 100 with Era 300 but with his floor plan, there is no way to place the 300 in such a way that their “top” is going to be clear!

Multichannel PCM 5.1 dropping out since 14.10 update

Anyone else experiencing the same issue? Multichannel PCM 5.1 blanks out for a second every 1-2 minutes. I don’t think it’s a bandwidth issue as it works flawlessly with Multichannel PCM 7.1 (thorough test) and Dolby TrueHD Atmos (quick test). And it may have been caused by the Sonos 14.10 update. Setup is PS5→ LG C1→ Beam 2 (via earc). 2 weeks ago before the 14.10 update, I watched a bluray film wherein I had my PS5 transcode the DTS-HD MA 5.1 audio to Multichannel PCM 5.1 (as the C1 does not support DTS) and had no issues. Earlier today, I played a bluray film for the first time in 2 weeks and I encountered consistent audio dropouts every 1-2 minutes. It had the same setup where DTS-HD MA 5.1 → Multichannel PCM 5.1. I tested other bluray discs including the one I watched 2 weeks ago and they all now have the same issue. Curiously, I’ve been gaming heavily on my PS5 the past two 2 weeks and haven’t had any audio issues. Then I realized that I’ve been using Multichannel PCM 7.1 when ga

Apple Music Playlists Not Accessible in Sonos app

My entire Apple Music Library is accessible on my Sonos app except my Apple Music Playlists. I can access my recently added songs, artists, albums, songs... but not my playlists. Anyone have a solution beyond the obvious troubleshooting like reauthorizing account and deleting the Apple Music service and reinstalling? I have called the support line, spoke with a representative, went through all the obvious troubleshooting (listed above), and still can’t get my playlists to populate. This is a new issue, they were accessible before. To add… I spent an hour on the phone with Sonos customer support and after all the troubleshooting, we were unable to resolve the issue. The message I get when trying to access my Apple Music Playlists is: “We’ve run into a problem. Try again.”It seems very odd that I can access EVERYTHING in my Apple Music Library EXCEPT the Playlists. I can even access recently added songs that have been added within a few minutes. Two Arc’s paired - This is what we need!

Well, what is missing is the ability to pair two Arc.The second one you would flip upside down so aesthetically they would fit perfect together.I have one Arc and two Sonos Sub gen3.I don’t want to add Five on left and right side. It will look to “much”.But to add another Arc, so these two together operate like my two Sonos sub does.So cool and nice looking! Agree?

Unable to play song ‘song’ - the song is not encoded correctly. Issue since 15.2

Since the 15.2 release there is quite a few songs that display this error when trying to play them. These seem to be mainly songs that are not lossless. They were purchased over time from Apple Music. They will still play if I use the Apple Music app, but they will no longer play from Sonos app. I suspect some lossy codex broke with latest release. Occurs with all my Sonos products.Is this a known issue?
