Redesigned Sonos app and compatibility with voice-over screen reader in IOS

Hello has the forthcoming redesigned Sonos App (announced on 23rd April 2024) been tested for compatibility with the voice-over screen reader in IOS? I am totally blind and currently use sonos very successfully with the S2 app on both my Iphone and Ipad. can you confirm whether the app has been tested with voice-over and that it will continue to be accessible to voice-over users. I am slightly reluctant to update if the app ends up being less accessible to me. at present the current app works beautifully with the exception of a few minor quirks. Dead Speakers

Our system is 6 years old…and in the past month 3 speakers ( 2 Play 1’s and a Play 3) have completely died. Anyone else have this kind of issue? Each have gone out on separate occasions…so no power surge issue. Not happy this is happening…

Hi there - I’m looking to buy one of the turntables, but the website says compatible with “select products” - and I don’t see any of my set-up mentioned. I’d be really grateful if someone could assure me that my set-up (Arc, OneSL’s (as surrounds), Sub) is compatible with any of the Sonos turntables?Many thanks all.

Please help me understand how sonos fails so i can mitigate

Hi All,I’ve been fighting with my sonos speakers for about 5years now. I never seem to lose hope and each year I think I figure it out, then a few weeks go by and im back to square one. This year I really thought I had it figured out by creating a dedicated network just for my speakers and then advertising a 2.4Ghz only wireless network for that network which again only my speakers connect to. That way there is no more sonosnet. There is no other interference on the network. Everything worked great for 16days and then i wake up to: Here is what the speakers look like on my network when this happens(notice the “wifi” column - theyre all dropped off from a router standpoint...but in the app theyre in a state where they are connected to the wifi, but they arent responding? how?..):So I reboot my entire network. All devices go offline. This is very disruptive, but its gotta work right?: Nope theyre jacked up still...everything else on my other networks are connected right back up. Sonos

Greetings everyone!I have a Sonos beam gen 2, mini Sub, 2x Symfonisk speakers connected to a TVI also have a third party turntable with pre amp (pro-ject) and 2x active speakers (Edifier R1280T wired, not BT)Can I connect them all together to stream music from my turntable to the Sonos system? Which hardware do I need to do so?Also can i connect all together when watching movies or there will be a sound delay? Is there any chance of frying a device because of the active speakers?Thanks in advance, greetings from Greece! ✌️

Hi,Today I have added an Sonos Era 100 to my setup at home, I already had a Sonos One.Now I’ve read and googled until I was crossed eyed but for the love of my I just don’t seem te be able to play everywhere.I’ve found a manual stating I should go to the System and Then the box on the right where i can select “everywhere” or create a new group but I just don’t get that menu option.Anyone experienced that before? Screenshot below :-) p.s. I just got the message there’s a new update coming may 7th, should I just wait that one out? Thanks everyone!Cheers!Sonny

Playing local multi-channel audio (eg LPCM 5.1 .flac files)

I have a Sonos Beam Gen 2 and a TV that support ARC (but not eARC). I no longer have any spare HDMI inputs for my bluray player now that I’ve plugged a Google TV streamer in to the TV. Not really a problem as we stream all movies that we watch now, however, I have some bluray disks with 5.1 channel music that I’d love to be able to listen to through the Beam.Jumping through hoops I’ve extracted the 5.1 sound files from the disk to a 5.1 LPCM .flac file, 48khz/24bits, and I put that on to my home network. The Sonos app can see the file, but when I try to play it I’m told “unsupported format”. So, is there a supported format I can convert the files to that the Beam can play directly?Casting the sound file to the Google TV also doesn’t play the files, although I can play them fine on my computer or phone. (Also using an app called BubbleUPnP on my phone or home network I can convert the files to 2 channel to play, but I want the Beam to be able to mix the 5.1 channels itself)

speaker layout for this room?

Looking to put ceiling speakers in our kitchen remodel. space is roughly 27’ long by 15’ wide. Can I get away with just two speakers in this room? I was thinking one on the right side in between the island and cabinets, with a second speaker closer to the dining table. Would this be sufficient or do I really need 4 in this space? I do not need sound over the stair area on far left. The kitchen is an open concept and leads into a living room with a vsaulted ceiling. There is a sonos soundbar in that room and I have no plans to add additional speakers in there. I appreciate any input!!

WORST OUTSOURCED CUSTOMER SERVICE ON EARTH

If anyone has the good luck of reading all these horrible reviews, run as far and fast as possible. Bought a Beam directly from Sonos. Absolute horror show with the app, password, account log in….. I could not even get someone on the phone to return it. I will be filing a claim against them thru BOA/VISA. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM, YOU WILL REGRET IT.

Sonos is forcing people to buy new hardware as they've broken the Connect:Amp and they refuse to fix it

Hi, I'm recreating this thread, as the discussion wasn't finished, but it was locked. I also wanted to make it obvious this is a Sonos issue, not a client environment issue. https://en.community.sonos.com/components-and-architectural-228999/connect-amp-keeps-dropping-out-audio-6885634/index2.html I've been following this for a while because I've been having the same issues, and when I spoke to support they said the connect amp can't cope with modern software and that I should upgrade to the amp, which is clearly unacceptable. This has been confirmed by people in that original thread who have been told the same thing. BillJanzen“FWIW, these issues seem to have occured after the June 2023 software update to S2 version 15.5. Interestingly, there is an alert posted in the release notes of the 15.6 update released July 25, 2023 about adjusting how older Sonos products use their internal memory. Which layout - Speaker setup would you go with?

Hi guys, I am helping my friend with his Sonos purchase and well I wanted your opinion on the 2 proposed setup: Setup A: Zone 1: Kitchen/Living room combined → Sonos AmpZone 2: Dining Room → Sonos AmpZone 3: Family room (Arc sound bar + Gen 3 sub) This setup visually looks better and has a steeper price tag, main concern is , is it an overkill? also if 5-10 years down the road he moves, well the in-ceiling speakers stay! Total: 10 in-ceiling speakers | 2 Sonos Amp | 2 Era 300 | 1 Arc Soundbar | 1 Gen 3 Sub Setup B: Zone 1: KitchenZone 2: Mid-Kitchen Zone 3: Living RoomZone 4: Dinning Room (group the 2 Era 100 with 2 Era 300) Zone 5: Family Room (identical in both plans)Main benefit, cost is lower as Era 100s are cheaper and no Sonos Amp is required, in addition if he moves, he can take the speakers with him! PS) I would have suggested to replace 2 of the Era 100 with Era 300 but with his floor plan, there is no way to place the 300 in such a way that their “top” is going to be clear!
