Powerful digital amplifier delivers audiophile-quality sound in any room

  • Built-in, powerful digital amplifier

Powers large or small speakers with 55W per channel.

  • Class-D amplifier

State of the art, great sounding amplifier is small, lightweight and very energy efficient.

  • Radiant cooling

Operates silently — all you hear is the music, as the amplifier is kept cool by the aluminum casing, not by a noisy fan.

  • Tone and volume controls adjustable for each room

Optimise sound performance for each room using room-specific bass, treble, balance, and loudness controls. Adjust volume by individual room or by groups of rooms.

  • Subwoofer output with automatic crossover

When adding a subwoofer, the CONNECT:AMP automatically adjusts the output to send the low frequencies to the subwoofer and the high frequencies to the speaker.

Access all your music

  • Pre-loaded Internet radio stations, free of charge

Get over 100,000 free radio stations, shows, and podcasts, all for free. And you can tune in without turning on your computer: browse for stations, or type in specific call letters or a radio host you love.

  • Endless music from the most popular online music services

Sonos works seamlessly with Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora, Deezer, Radio by TuneIn, SiriusXM, Google Play Music, SoundCloud, Amazon Music, iHeartRadio, Rhapsody, Rdio, Qobuz, TIDAL and downloads from any service offering DRM-free tracks. (Service availability varies by region.)

  • Computer-free music playback

Get instant access to millions of songs and thousands of radio stations without ripping, downloading, or even turning on a computer. Sonos connects directly to these services over the Internet and then streams the music to the rooms of your choice.

  • Play the music on your computer in any room

Play music stored on up to 16 PCs, Macs or NAS (Network Attached Storage) devices on your home network, supporting the most popular audio formats, from iTunes® to MP3.

  • Stream music from an iPhone®, iPad™ or iPod touch®

Sonos wirelessly plays your iTunes® music, direct from your iPhone®, iPad® or iPod touch®, to any room in your home.

  • Play music and audio from a CD or MP3 player, and more throughout the home

An analogue audio input lets you connect to an external audio source (such as a CD or MP3 player, or radio) and play that music or audio on all Sonos players in the system.

Other cool features

  • Wake up to music

Set the alarm and wake up to your favourite music or Internet radio station in one room, or all over the house. Just hit snooze to get a few minutes more sleep. Fall asleep to soothing music with the sleep timer.

  • Schedule your music

Use the scheduler to play music at a specific time for a set duration — great for that 30-minute workout.

  • Easy Internet connectivity for other products in your house

The CONNECT:AMP has a two-port Ethernet switch to bring standard Internet connectivity to your set-top box, DVR, PC, game console or NAS drive.

  • Includes Sonos Desktop Controller software and setup software for your computer

Control all your music and all your rooms from any computer or laptop in your house. Setup software facilitates music sharing so music folders on your hard drive can be shared across all Sonos players.

  • Front-panel play/pause controls

Provides quick access to music, volume and play/pause controls when you don’t have a Controller in hand.  Press the Mute button once to start or stop the music and twice to skip to the next track.

Wireless multi-room music with SonosNet

  • Built-in wireless capability

The CONNECT:AMP can go anywhere, delivering music to any room in your house, wirelessly. Players and Controllers establish their own secure wireless mesh network that delivers the extensive range and superior performance you need to get music all over your house.

  • Play a different song in every room, at the same time

Tune in to an Internet radio station in the bedroom, stream a music service in the kitchen and play a song from your music library in the living room — simultaneously.

  • Listen to the same song in every room, in perfect synchronisation

Play the same song in different rooms, simultaneously, without echoes or delays. Add or drop rooms from your rooms grouping and still be in sync.

Simple setup and expandable design

  • Simple setup

No technical or wireless expertise required.  Put a CONNECT:AMP in any room where you want music and connect it to your home WiFi network using the free Sonos Controller App.  The Sonos System Setup software provides simple on-screen prompts on any Sonos CONTROL.  With the touch of a few buttons, you’ll be playing music all over the house in minutes.

Comments about SONOS CONNECT:AMP (Formerly the ZonePlayer 120):

I use four Play:1s and a Connect:Amp to play music throughout the living areas of the house. The Connect:Amp isn't as powerful as I was expecting and I have to put the volume at approximately twice the level of the Play:1s to get the same volume out of the two connected speakers. However the sound quality is good and the Connect:Amp provides a connection for external audio and an output for a Sub.

I have the connect amp in a central hub in the house. I have wired ceiling speakers in the kitchen that runs of this. The sound is incredible and control is very responsive from iPad/iPhone. Will be adding to system shortly. Have bought a play 1 speaker for a family member recently and I must say that for a small entry level speaker it doesn't half bang out the sound.

Comments about SONOS CONNECT:AMP (Formerly the ZonePlayer 120):

I bought two Connect Amps to use in two separate rooms with ceiling speakers. It's my first experience of Sonos having been recommended to me by a friend. The system was easy to set up, including downloading the Sonos control App, and sounds great.
However, I am disappointed that Sonos doesn't fully embrace the BBC iPlayer Radio. Yes, live radio can be played through TuneIn but it would be fantastic if Sonos could get the full functionality of say catch up services, downloads and Podcasts.
Also, I enjoy listening to audio books (iBooks) but I can't for the life of me work out how to listen to these with the Sonos.
So, to summarise, the Sonos is a great system with a user friendly App. However, it's shortcomings takes the shine off. I'm hoping technology will develop over time by Sonos and before too long, I will be delighted with my considerable investment.

So once we got it installed and we downloaded the controller I was away laughing. I look forward to expanding the system throughout the house

I use my controller with an older set of Tannoy Revolutions - the quality is really good especially when you compare the price to most solid standalone amps.

The user interface is well structured with full support for Windows, Mac and iOS so no matter what device I'm usibg I can always, easily control whats playing.

The only reason for no 5th star from me is that there is only 1 line-in input and its phono - an optical would make this unit the single perfect fit for a simple but great home audio amp system.

The Sonos is a great system, but the Spotify implementation is ridiculously bad. STOP blaming Spotify and work together with them to implement Spotify Radio, the curated playlists, and MOST importantly "Your Music". Favourite albums artists and tunes saved in Spotify is not available in Sonos, which makes the Sonos app for Spotify close to useless. I now have to add the album in two places in Spotify, both as an album and as a playlist in order to use it in Sonos as well.
Also, it would not hurt to make the Spotify playlists searchable, as there are a lot of good playlists available

Really good product, I've connected to 2 Dali speakers, the only cons is when I use the line in, I think it a bit weak. I checked and changed the cable to a really god one, it's a bit better but not as good as expected.
So if you change often from Line In to music from a remote device you always have to adjust the volume.

I thought Sonos would provide my wireless solution to home music. However you can only add music through one of the existing listed music service providers. So if I wanted to play a utube video, with music, or iplayer sound through the Sonos I can't. Very disappointing.

                                              Questions?

                                              1. Do I need a BOOST?

Use a BOOST if you’re worried about your home WiFi performance.

Connecting a Sonos unit to your router with an Ethernet cable automatically creates a dedicated Sonos wireless network. Any player or a BOOST can make this hard-wired connection. A dedicated Sonos network is ideal when your WiFi isn’t reliable in your home.

                                              2. Where does the music come from?

The music on Sonos comes from your favourite music streaming services, your personal music library and Internet radio stations from around the world. Access all your music within the Main Menu of the Sonos App.

                                              3. Do you make an outdoor speaker?

No, but they're all light and portable. As long as there's an outlet, you've got Sonos. The speaker units that we sell, the PLAY:1, PLAY:3 and PLAY:5, are not weather-rated. They can certainly be moved outside, but they are not designed to live outside unless they are in a covered space. If you are looking for a permanent outdoor zone of music, you can use our CONNECT:AMP unit with traditional weather-rated speakers.

                                              4. Will Sonos work with my existing equipment?

Already have a Stereo? Use the CONNECT.

The CONNECT is designed specifically to integrate with an external amplifier/receiver, and bring Sonos functionality to a third party system. Once you have a CONNECT hooked up to your stereo system, you can stream digital music and control the music selection and volume from the Sonos app.

Have a pair of speakers? The CONNECT:AMP is all you need.

If you have existing wired speakers that are not currently driven by amplifier, you can use a CONNECT:AMP to bring Sonos functionality to your speakers. Once you wire your speakers to a CONNECT:AMP, you can stream digital music and control the music selection and volume from the Sonos app.

                                              5. Can I connect Sonos to my TV?

PLAYBAR is the only soundbar that delivers outstanding Hi-Fi Sound for your TV and is a complete Wireless HiFi System that plays all the music on earth. It is simple to set-up, control and expand throughout your home. With only an optical cable connecting PLAYBAR to your TV, you can control it with your regular TV remote or with the free Sonos apps on iOS, Android, Mac and PC.

PLAYBAR is the core piece in a Sonos home theatre solution. If you want dramatically deeper bass, you can add our wireless SUB. If you're looking for surround sound, you can use two PLAY:1s or two PLAY:3s as wireless rear surrounds.

                                              6. Can I connect more than 2 speakers to the CONNECT:AMP?

The CONNECT:AMP is designed for a single pair of speakers - it is a stereo amplifier, right and left channel. However, if your speakers are rated at 8 ohms, you can wire up to 2 pairs, or 4 speakers, to one CONNECT:AMP - you just won’t have independent control between those two pairs of speakers, in terms of volume and music selection.  ×
                                              7. Can I use two PLAY speakers as a stereo pair?

The PLAY:1, PLAY:3 AND PLAY:5 can easily be setup as a stereo pair, using the controller app. If you are looking for more distinction between the left and right channels, you can use any two matching Sonos speakers in a stereo pair. Creating a stereo pair is a simple software toggle which turns one speaker into a dedicated left and the other into a dedicated right. Stereo pairing creates a wider stereo experience to help you hear every instrument and vocal more discretely, and fill a room more evenly with sound.

                                              8. Which speaker is right for my room?

All of our speakers sound great in any room; which speaker is best for your particular room depends on your desired room experience. For many, the PLAY:1 will provide an incredible music experience with deep bass and plenty of power. Consider upgrading to a PLAY:3 or PLAY:5, or to a stereo pair of speakers if you:

                                                • Want deeper bass
                                                • Want more power
                                                • Have the space to set up two players in stereo pair mode

                                              9. How do I choose between a PLAY:5 and a stereo pair of PLAY:1s?

While both options deliver an incredible music experience, each has its unique benefits. The differences:

                                                • Choose PLAY:5 for maximum power and the deepest bass.
                                                • Choose a stereo pair of PLAY:1s to create a wider sound stage, allowing every vocal and instrument to be heard more discretely.
